Need to Know - New Ford Bronco/Ranger Recall in Montana

Less than 24 hours after I talked about Honda issuing a recall for faulty fuel systems, another major vehicle brand and manufacturer is also issuing a recall.

Ford Motor Company has announced recent models with the updated Bronco and Ranger are experiencing problems regarding steering components.  It ultimately could lead to losing complete steering in those models.

Personal Experience on a Montana Highway Tells Me to Get This Fixed!

In the announcement through the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, the recall involves the "front upper control arm ball joint nut may not have been installed or tightened properly, allowing the front upper control arm to detach from the knuckle assembly."

The recall is for certain 2024 Ranger, and 2024-2025 Bronco vehicles.

Many years ago in my travels, I experienced this exact problem with my steering.  The control arm coming completely separated in my truck while driving down Mehmke Hill outside of Great Falls.  I really, really don't recommend it.

The NHTSA stated in the announcement that "owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on October 28, 2024. Owners may contact Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S64."
