I'm a total sucker for a good deal. If there's a thrift store or a garage sale within driving distance, I'm probably already in the car. So when I heard the Salvation Army Thrift Store here in Billings had reopened, I grabbed my grandma and son, and we headed straight over to check it out at 10 South 30th Street.

Thrift Shopping in Billings, MT: First Impressions of the New Store

I have to say, I was impressed the second we walked in. This store is clean. Really clean. And it is organized in a way that makes it easy to actually browse instead of digging through piles. The front half of the store is furniture and household items, and the back half is all clothing. Prices are fair across the board, and there are so many little treasures tucked into every section.

One thing that really stood out to me was the size range. Anyone who thrifts knows it can be tough to find a good selection in smaller sizes, and just as tough to find larger sizes. This store had both, plus everything in between, for men and for women. The kids' section was great too, which I always appreciate as a mom.

Size-Inclusive Thrift Store Clothing Options for Everyone

Every day, the store puts a different colored sticker on sale for extra savings, and we happened to go on a day when white stickers were half off. I ended up buying a whole cart full of stuff that day, way more than I expected to walk out with.

Just to give you one example of how good the prices were, I picked up a portable DVD player for the car, a few DVDs, a couple of Wii games, and a Nintendo Switch game, and all of those items together came to under twenty bucks. That's just a taste of what I found. My bargain heart was thrilled.

My son is what I like to call Mr. Chatty. He makes friends wherever he goes, and this trip was no different. He made his way around the store, talking to every single employee, and every one of them stopped and chatted right back with him. Nobody acted too busy or too rushed for a kid who just wanted to talk and make some new friends. That kind of warmth from the staff made the whole experience even better.

Exceptional Customer Service and a Welcoming Family Environment
