This Labor Day weekend, the streets of downtown Billings will come alive with the roar of classic engines and a surge of nostalgia as the annual "Burn the Point" event returns on August 30 and 31.

Steeped in tradition from the 1950s and '60s, when young enthusiasts would cruise between 2nd and 3rd Avenues North and N 29th Street and Broadway, the celebration continues to unite generations in a shared love for vintage automobiles and community spirit.

Burn the Point is Chase Hawk's second-largest fundraiser.

Organized by the Chase Hawks Memorial Association since acquiring rights from the Downtown Business Association in 2003, "Burn the Point" has grown exponentially thanks to the dedication of local car enthusiasts led by Sylvia Gusick. The event not only honors the rich cruising culture of Billings' past but also supports community initiatives through its proceeds.

We caught up with Chase Hawks Association Executive Director Teddi Vogel on Monday morning, who shared some fun insight on the classic Billings event.
