I’m a skeptic with a hopeful heart - if that makes any sense.

I usually never spend my money on things that I don’t know much about, especially in the medical/aesthetic field. But I tried something new that I’ve heard about in recent years that is gaining traction in Billings and all over the U.S. and it's not just to cure hangovers!

A brand-new business opened in west Billings and the giant green sign caught my eye.

It’s an IV spa.  I’m not “bougie” whatsoever, in fact, I live a very frugal life. I’ve never had a spa day in my 30 years on this planet, so I must share this experience with you.  I also love getting blood drawn/IVs - but if you don't like needles, this story may not be for you.

My spa experience started with giving a urine sample, so the professionals at iv Nutrition can test it to see what’s going on in my body.

Then Sara, the lovely employee that helped me, brought me to a room with a recliner chair and a salt lamp with soft music playing in the background. The space is so calming and quiet; a great place to relax.

We started the questionnaire on an iPad which lasted about 15 minutes. This part of the process is important because you are asked questions about your life.

Rate your stress level from 1-5. Do you experience pain in your joints, neck, back, feet? Questions like this make you the observer of your body and your lifestyle.

Dr. Tara from iv Nutrition tallied up my questions and that’s what they use to help you choose which IV bag you need to help heal yourself. Science is too cool! And I trust the professionals.

We decided on the Balanced Brain IV bag, with a syringe shot of Vitamin D which I was low on.

The balanced brain bag contains magnesium (for calming), Vitamin C (for immunity), Essential Amino Acids (boost immunity and sustain normal digestion), Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12 (for energy production), Glycine (for cellular growth), Tryptophan (for a calm mind), and Taurine (helps combat anxiety and fatigue).

The actual IV treatment in action

We got my IV treatment started after nurse Connie pricked my forearm and loaded up my bag of nutrients. They gave me a fluffy blanket to add that extra touch of rest and relaxation.

It’s wild because I tasted Vitamin C immediately in my mouth which tasted just like the Flintstones Vitamins I ate as a kid. This process for the IV to complete took about 30 minutes.

Once I finished the IV fluids, I felt... great and still do!

All the chronic pain in my joints is gone. I haven’t gotten a headache which normally I deal with at least 3 days out of the week.  I usually have back pain daily, and my fingers get swollen from arthritis... I don’t have any of those symptoms after my IV.👍

I will also add that my mental headspace is calm, much calmer. I have anxiety that I’ve battled my entire life... so to feel good in my body and headspace is a huge deal for me.

I’m not going to say it’s a miracle worker, because you always need to consult your doctor before trying anything like this.

I would rate my experience at IVNutrition a solid 10. I thought living with my chronic pain was normal, but it doesn’t have to be for me.

I have a clearer mindset, with focus and relaxation combined. I feel normal again. If you’re a skeptic like me, maybe just try an IV one day... let me know how your experience was!
