Two Montana Towns are the Absolute Best Places for Christmas

Two Montana towns have landed on the 75 best 'Christmassy' places for 2023.

For most of us, Christmas is special no matter where you live. Once you're an adult, it's not really about the gifts; it's more about spending time with those you love. Making cookies, watching holiday movies, driving around looking at lights, eating good food, playing games, and sharing laughter and stories with friends and family are what make the Christmas season so special.

However, some places feel more like Christmas.

Photobook company Mixbook recently shared survey information from over 3,000 respondents to determine 2023's 'Most Christmassy' Cities in the US. Bozeman and Whitefish are both in the Top 75.

Whitefish, MT #51 for towns with plenty of Christmas cheer.

Visiting Whitefish in the winter is on my short list of things to do in Montana. I've been there just a handful of times, always in the summer, spring or fall. The town is a picture-perfect setting for making winter memories. They wrote,

The main streets of Whitefish are adorned with festive lights and decorations, creating a cozy, small-town ambiance that embodies the spirit of the holidays. The town's annual Christmas Stroll is a highlight, featuring a festive parade, tree lighting ceremony, and appearances by Santa Claus, which captivates both locals and visitors.

Outdoor winter recreation abounds nearby for those seeking adventure over Christmas vacation.

Bozeman, MT ranks #57 for 'Christmassy' spirit.

When I was growing up, we always went to the Bozeman Christmas Stroll. Everybody did. Bozeman's downtown is so vibrant compared to many Montana communities and during the holiday season, it's extraordinarily festive. The authors of the survey had this to say about Bozeman,

 The town's historic Main Street transforms into a festive scene straight out of a storybook, adorned with twinkling lights and holiday decorations. Local businesses and artisan shops offer a warm, inviting atmosphere, perfect for finding unique holiday gifts.

 

Like Whitefish, Christmas in Bozeman offers a multitude of ways to get out of the house if you're looking for wintertime adventure, with downhill sports, sleigh rides, frozen waterfalls to explore, and so much more.
