What are the weirdest things to see or do in Montana?

Most tourists probably come to Montana to partake in traditional Montana stuff. Hiking, fishing, camping, visiting the Parks, horseback riding, rafting, etc. are all fun and great reasons to visit Montana.

We spotted a thread on Reddit today with a local asking for suggestions about weird stuff to check out in Montana. They've already been to most of the usual places and are looking for other cool stuff to check out.

The Redditor wrote,

I'm from here. I've seen many things here. But this summer I want to see something I haven't seen before. Maybe go some place I havent been, if possible. What are your favorite off-the-beaten-path things to do in Montana? Preferably family friendly. I have a few vacation days to use up and I want to make them fun!

I loved the thread. Some of the replies for "weird" things to see are great ideas and launchpads for new adventures. Here are some of the best.

The Berkely Pit.

The huge pit full of toxic water in Butte is oddly captivating.

The Sip 'n Dip.

Perhaps one of the weirder things in Montana is a Tikki-themed bar with mermaids swimming in a giant pool behind the bar. That's what you'll experience at the legendary Sip 'n Dip in Great Falls.

Ringing Rocks

Rocks that chime like a bell when you hit them with a hammer? That's pretty weird, right? This BLM-managed site near Butte is worth a visit.

Medicine Rocks State Park

In southeast Montana, the landscape takes an otherworldly twist at Medicine Rocks State Park. One Redditor suggested camping for a night or two at the park while enjoying some shrooms.
