You better get ready for the 100th Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede coming up this July. I mean...the Catholic burgers alone are worth the trip...

We forget how young many of our Montana communities truly are, especially some of these Hi Line communities that developed in conjunction with the railroad all along Highway 2. As a result, several towns and great events have recently been celebrating, or are soon to be celebrating centennial events.

Last week, we told you how Shelby, Montana is planning a centennial celebration for the big Dempsey-Gibbons boxing match 100 years ago. Just days after that event takes place Wolf Point, Montana will serve as host to their 100th Wild Horse Stampede.

Other events and festivities set for the 100th weekend celebration include the
“100 Years of the Granddaddy of Montana Rodeo” 2-day parade, carnival, cowboy church, street dance entertainment by Jared Stewart & Jarred Hanson, re-enactors, the famous Catholic Hamburger Stand on Main Street, Stampede Fun Run, TETWP Stampede Roundup Golf Tournament Thursday & Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night, museum pancake breakfast, rodeo event Calcutta each night pre rodeo and Wild Horse Race Calcutta, rodeo specialty act “Haley Proctor” Trick Riding, Kids Stick Horse Rodeo hosted by Miss Rodeo Montana, bouncy house, Art in the Park, one-day Omaha Pow Wow and horsemanship clinic will be held at the Wadopana grounds. Info to events and update to additional events, held in conjunction with the 100th Stampede, will be announced as they are set in place.

By the way, I am also happy to report that we will be there for the event with a LIVE broadcast of our statewide radio show "Montana Talks with Aaron Flint", which is heard locally on KVCK Radio in Wolf Point.

Here is the full schedule of events, and big thanks to Christy Stensland for sending this our way:
