Kenny Chesney to Drop New Album in June
Within weeks of beginning the Brothers of the Sun Tour, Kenny Chesney will have a new album for sale in stores nationwide and at digital retailers. A press release confirms that the still-untitled project will be released on June 19, just 17 days after his first date with co-headliner Tim McGraw.
The album will be Chesney’s 13th on BNA Nashville. In January, reports surfaced that he was seeking a new record label after being unsatisfied with his current arrangement. Chesney’s management denied that rumor. It’s not clear if this album is the part of a new deal or if it falls under his current contract.
As previously reported, Chesney has been working with Buddy Cannon on the new project, his first since the two worked together on 2010′s ‘Hemingway’s Whiskey.’ His road manager Malchijah Bailey said the beach environment in St. Barths has been nice. “Anytime you can work all day, walk out of the studio and be greeted by an amazing beach, makes you feel like it’s not work,” Baily told Broadcast Newsroom.
A new single is expected in the coming weeks. ‘Reality’ is Chesney’s final single from ‘Hemingway’s Whiskey,’ and it currently sits at No. 2 on the Billboard chart.
