Luke Bryan Reveals He Would Consider a Role on ‘The Voice’
Blake Shelton has had so much success working as a coach on the reality TV singing competition ‘The Voice’ that plenty of other country artists have joined in the trend. Soon, Jennifer Nettles will help kick off a new one called ‘Duets,’ and John Rich will join in on the CW’s ‘The Star Next Door.’ Country queens Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert have flocked to ‘The Voice’ as well, each making guest appearances as celebrity mentors. So who will be the next country hitmaker to make an appearance on the small screen? Turns out, it could be Luke Bryan.
With his full country vocals and an energetic and charming personality, Luke Bryan would make a great fit on a show like ‘The Voice.’ And he isn’t ruling out the option, either — he’s just waiting for the call.
In an interview with Country Weekly, the ‘Drunk on You’ singer admitted that he wouldn’t mind the opportunity to work as a voice coach alongside Blake Shelton on the famed NBC reality show. If the right offer were to come along, Bryan says he would definitely consider it as an option.
“I never rule anything out,” he said, adding, “If I had the time and the right opportunity came along, you never know. I would always put a lot of thought in it. It would probably be something I would look into. I think [music competitions] have their place and they are great at finding talent.”
Maybe Bryan has his eye on ‘The Voice’ — and reality competitions in general — because Shelton does such a great job working with his contestants, which have since become friends and even touring buddies. After all, he gave the ‘Honey Bee’ hitmaker the highest praises, saying that he’s a great tool for the genre.
“Blake does great, Blake’s totally the right personality for that,” Bryan commented. “When you look at when country music is being represented in that capacity, he’s a great representative for country music.”
For now, it seems like Bryan is focused on his latest No. 1 single ‘I Don’t Want This Night to End,’ which is a multi-chart topper and doesn’t seem to be losing steam just yet. But he’s not ruling anything out.
