One of my Facebook friends finally got her first speeding ticket. She's been driving 32 years, and just got her first ticket. Good job. I have outperformed her throughout the years.

I got my first car on September 10, 1978. My first ticket less than a month later. 42 in a 25 mph zone. Just wasn't paying attention.

I also got a Reckless Driving ticket in that car. I was racing Lester Davis' 69 Firebird with the 326 and 4 speed. He took second. I had to walk places for 2 weeks. That was the first time that I got to meet a judge.

I got to meet another judge in Park County in 1993. After I met a couple of nice law enforcement official at my very first roadblock. That was quite expensive.

About 10 years ago I learned that going 100 mph in Judith Basin County costs $100, but you can pay it online. I also learned that some cop cars are Dodge pickups.

When speeding was only $5 in Montana, I was ticketed twice.

I've also been let off with warnings several times because I have always believed that it is important to treat all law enforcement with respect. "Yes, sir" and "No, sir" have saved me thousands of dollars, I believe.

These days I spend more on allergy pills than I do on speeding fines. But I'll still race you when that light turns green. I just let off the gas sooner now.
