Miranda Lambert and Ashton Kutcher to Meet for First Time Since ACM Awards Tiff
The last time Miranda Lambert and Ashton Kutcher came face to face, Kutcher was presenting Lambert with the coveted ACM Award for Female Vocalist of the Year. But the ‘Two and a Half Men’ funny guy behaved in such a way that seemed to tick off the sassy starlet just a bit. Dressed in over-the-top country garb — a cowboy hat and a rather gaudy red blazer — Kutcher sang a few bars of George Strait‘s ‘I Cross My Heart,’ later causing Lambert to question the 34-year-old actor’s intentions.
“Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me?” Lambert tweeted. “Watching it back now and I’m kinda wondering?” After that, the ‘Over You’ singer dropped it, but it didn’t stop there. Fellow country star Justin Moore picked up the argument and carried it back and forth with Kutcher, who defended himself in a tweet that read, “I Am One Of The biggest country Music fans you’ve ever met. Wasn’t making fun at all.”
Now, for the first time since that little e-scuffle, Lambert and Kutcher are scheduled to be in the same room together again — attending the same party before the Kentucky Derby May 4. According to the Courier-Journal, both celebs will be in attendance at the elite Barnstable Brown Gala on the eve of the race.
We’re guessing that neither star will even bat an eye at the sight of the other, and perhaps they’ll even enjoy a good laugh over a mint julep at the big deal that was made of their two tweets. Or maybe it will be a chance for Kutcher to sincerely assure the country gal of his love of country music… so long as he doesn’t try his hand at any classic country tunes.
Whatever the case, Lambert won’t be the only big name representing her genre at this year’s gala. Other country stars scheduled to appear on the social scene include Wynonna, Lee Ann Womack, the Band Perry and several more.
