Rodney Atkins will host the sixth annual Music City Gives Back Concert this June in Nashville. Atkins teams up with Dustin Lynch, who will headline the show, Craig Campbell, Lanco and Canaan Smith as performers.

The free concert benefits W.O. Smith Music School and will be held near 5th Avenue and Demonbreun Street in downtown Nashville on June 7.

“This is hands-down one of my favorite events to do every year,” Atkins says in a press release. “We started it as a way to help our friends and neighbors in the community who were affected by the huge flood in 2010, and it just keeps growing every year and has become a fun way for us to support some of the great organizations we have in Nashville like the W.O. Smith Music School. I’m grateful to all the artists who are coming out to play with us this year – we’re going to have a good time!”

Performances will begin at 6PM, though festivities officially kickoff at 10AM, when some of the artists will sign autographs. Additionally, guests can have a drink, play cornhole and more. The concert serves as an unofficial kickoff to CMA Festival, which runs June 9-12 in Nashville, Tenn.

Atkins may even debut some new music at the show, as he's been working on a new album.

“We’ve been writing a whole bunch, working on outside tunes as well. I do a lot of the stuff at home,” Atkins tells the Boot. “It’s kind of cool, from when I did the first successful album, [If You’re] Going Through Hell, I was encouraged by the record label to experiment, to push myself, to learn and to evolve and to try different things.”

"It's been kind of that sort of experiment all year, on and off the road, trying different things, writing different stuff, writing with different people," he adds. "And it’s been a whole lot of fun. We’ve been trying different kind of vocals."
