It seems that this year has brought so many goodbyes to so many people and here we are only three months into 2016.

Major stars to close friends and everything in between have left us already and it's really hard to accept.

One of those as you well know happened on Friday, March 4, and it's not like we weren't expecting it.

Joey Martin Feek, one half of the country duo Joey and Rory lost her battle to cervical cancer. She had been fighting this for a long time but it came to light a few months ago that the treatments weren't working anymore. She decided to go home to finish her life.

To me, she was so much more than just a country singer. She was an amazing, goodhearted, down-to-earth wife and person. She was one of the best examples of a Christian I have seen, which is very hard to find in this industry at times.

No matter what life handed her, she took it with a smile and she ALWAYS found the bright side to even the most dark of situations. Her human qualities were amazing and I admired her spirit greatly.

I can honestly say that when I received information of her passing, I broke down in the studio and cried. It broke my heart.

I have sometimes wondered with so much bad in the world why God would take such good people like Joey. I will never fully understand why, but God said himself that there would be many things in this world that we would not understand. Have faith and push forward.

My heart breaks for Rory, her parents and their children. Especially their youngest daughter Indie. She will grow up without her mama.

Heaven's choir just got a whole lot better with the gain of a new angel.

Her pain is gone and her struggles are over. We will miss you, Joey. Rest in peace and God bless all those who loved you, because you made them and me better people just by knowing you.

This is not goodbye. This is most definitely...see ya later friend.
