Whoever made up the saying "sleep like a baby" is full of crap.  Wikipedia defines sleep deprivation as:

Sleep deprivation is the condition of not having enough sleep; it can be either chronic or acute. A chronic sleep-restricted state can cause fatigue, daytime sleepiness, clumsiness and weight loss or weight gain. It adversely affects the brain and cognitive function.

Yeah, I have that.  You see, we have a 15 month old little girl (who I love to pieces), but for the love of God, when is she going to sleep all night?? Seriously, I think my wife and I have had literally maybe 10 nights of full sleep since she was born. If she not teething, then it's an ear infection.  If it's not an ear infection, she's hungry or pooped.  We're not first time parents, by any means, but this little bundle of joy is really taking its toll. It doesn't help that I'm a little older than most parents of a baby, I suppose.

She still sleeps in our room.  How long did you let your little ones sleep in your room?  Is there light at the end of the tunnel? You know the saying, "I'll sleep when I'm dead".  That's how I feel.  If you have any tips or tricks that worked to get your baby to sleep all night, I'd love to hear them!
