Billings weather

Another round of severe weather is likely to roll through Yellowstone County tomorrow (Tuesday 7/13), and while that will bring the heat down for a couple days, it's right back into the oven for the Magic City by the weekend.

The northwestern United States will feel like an oven for more than a week, according to current weather forecasts from the National Weather Service, with Billings possibly hitting 100 degrees for several days in a row next week.

Last year on this date we had gusty winds too but they weren't 50mph. However, it was 19 below zero with two feet of snow on the ground so pick your poison.

The Gazette reports that Billings has seen 94 inches of snow this season, making this the third-snowiest winter on record, according to the National Weather Service. Snow continued falling through Monday, with about 6 to 8 inches of accumulation, and a cold front quickly dropped temperatures into the teens...

Friday night and into Saturday morning the low is forecast to be 16 degrees. Keep this in mind when you hide things for your Easter egg hunt. Things might get a little frosty. Wear your bunny fur gloves and earmuffs.

It won't be long now. I took this picture on Saturday while taking care of the cows before the blizzard. Mother nature always knows and I think all of us are ready for a change. It's a good sign........

The Gazette reports that, with the shortest month of the year in the rear view mirror, Billings had its second-snowiest February on record, adding almost 32-and-a-half inches of powder to a year that already ranks in the top 10 for snowfall, according to the National Weather Service...

With the record breaking snow we have had you know that it is going to flood. So, let's get ready now instead of waiting until the river crests. River restrictions, park closures, equipment removal all should be planned now. It's going to be bad, for me too, so let's get ready early and it might  save us all some headaches. Goo...

Saturday, I woke up and it was 27 below, I couldn't believe it. I knew it was going to get cold, but not that cold. Good thing I threw down an extra blanket for my girls.....

Now that the city has brand new snow melters to use in the winter, maybe we can buy a couple giant sponges to use in the summer. That way we can collect all the rain water before it runs in the storm drains.Then we can buy a couple big air fresheners during forest fire season to clean the air before we breath it...

Last Sunday, I had 31 below zero with over 50 below wind chill factors. Tomorrow, it will be 42 degrees above zero, that’s about an 80-90 degree difference, no wonder everyone gets sick. However, 110 of us are glad we have time to get used to such a huge fluctuation in temperature...
