Thanks to high winds, this was a perilous day on Wyoming highways. A driver shared video of a semi that was blown over on Wyoming highway 85. If you watch closely, this was a very close call for more than one reason.
The National Weather Service reported wind gusts in parts of Yellowstone County were almost at Category 1 hurricane strength, with Molt, Laurel, and Acton all having wind reports of over 70 mph yesterday (Wednesday 1/14).
The chance for more wild fires or worsening wild fires is critical today. Please take care when you're out and about. Be responsible so we don't lose any more of our state to this devastation.
Motorist need to be aware of strong winds that will make travel difficult along I-90 from Reed Point to the Bozeman pass and along the foothills of the Beartooth and Absaroka mountains including the town of Nye through this evening…strong cross winds can especially make travel difficult for high profile vehicles and towing units.
