This guys is about as Montana as it gets. A rodeo cowboy. An Army Ranger. And a helicopter pilot who fights fire for his day job. This guy and his family has had to Ranger Up and Cowboy Up on more than one occasion.
In case you didn't know, today is "the day of the deployed." It's a day in honor of all of the troops who are currently deployed all over the world. Yes, despite the withdrawal from Afghanistan, we still have thousands of troops deployed all over the world who are serving in a variety of capacities.
Those who answered the call to serve obviously felt a calling to serve our country. But I also think those same veterans want to make sure that those patriotic values are instilled in the next generation.
Montana Governor Greg Gianforte (R-MT) welcomed home a wave of Montana National Guard troops back from service in Washington, DC. Greg and his wife Susan greeted troops on the tarmac in Helena earlier this week.

If you've travelled the state or talked to folks around Montana, whether it is folks working in the schools, or working in hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities- they will all tell you what a Godsend these National Guard soldiers and airmen have been.
