Feel like we're not getting a winter this year in Montana? Don't worry... it's coming. Cold and better chances of snow start making their way into the Treasure State later this week.

New to Montana? Here are 5 things to know before driving in winter conditions.

Our first big winter blast will drop into south central Montana this week, with some models showing temps dropping to -21 by the weekend.

Snowfall is expected to be heaviest south of Billings. Red Lodge could get up to 12"and travel to Wyoming could be hazardous. A Winter Storm Watch begins at 12 AM Wednesday and runs through Friday at 5 PM.

Don't let them fool you, nobody knows what this winter's weather holds.

Interstate 90 was a parking lot. Traffic came to a complete stand-still many times due to crashes, pile ups, and slide offs. US 93 had dozens of it's own accidents. Montana is having a very rough week on the roads.

Billings officially recorded a snowfall total of 13.8 inches of accumulation for February 2022, which was more than 4 inches over our average for the month. But March could turn out to be our biggest snowmaker of the year with the way the month is going so far.
