It is September 11, a date that changed our world.  Most of us won’t be able to forget what happened on that day, the images are burned into our minds forever.  Victims, families and loved ones are gathering at ground zero to commemorate the attacks' anniversary with the reading of names, moments of silence and serene music that have become a yearly tradition.

We were on the air when it happened, and it has surely changed our world. As broadcasters we were some of the first to hear if the tragedy. Memories of that morning burned in our minds as we realized that our country was under attack.

Names will be recited at today ceremony on the 9/11 memorial plaza, relatives will recite the names of the nearly 3,000 people who died when hijacked jets crashed into the World Trade Center, at the Pentagon and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
