Rory Feek is making sure his wife's memory is not forgotten. The Joey + Rory singer has debuted the official trailer for his new film, To Joey, With Love, set to premiere later in September.

"This is sort of a found footage film, just [made] out of home video," Rory Feek tells USA Today. "It’s sort of strange and special and unusual, so I can never really get a grasp on what it will mean to others. I know what it means to me. But I’m really excited about it."

Feek announced his plans for the movie back in mid-June, a little over three months after Joey Feek passed away on March 4, after being diagnosed with terminal cancer in the summer of 2015. The full-length film will begin just before the birth of daughter Indiana in February of 2014 and run through last spring. Readers can press play above to watch the trailer.

“I mostly am still a little bit in awe of her being gone," Rory Feek admits. "I just sort of feel her everywhere, and it feels strange that she’s not here. I find myself just more thinking about the finality of it and how much I miss her.”

To Joey, With Love is set to premiere on Sept. 20, with a one-night-only screening at theaters in Nashville, Tenn.; Chicago, Ill.; Los Angeles, Calif., and more. An encore screening will take place on Oct. 6; fans can visit the film’s official website for more information.

In addition to To Joey, With Love, Rory Feek is also working on a book, titled This Life I Live and based on his blog of the same name.
