"Well, it was just a little white lie."  How many times have you said that to justify yourself?  I'll bet if I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times.

I usually lie to make sure I don't hurt someone's feelings.  "No, those pants don't make you look fat."  I figure they have a mirror, and if they're asking, they have their doubts already.  It also depends on how well I know a person.

Yet, I always make sure that if there's something in your teeth or some other embarrassing thing happening to you, to tell you right away.  Once, my friend had her skirt tucked into her nylons for nearly an entire afternoon before someone told her.  My hunch is they didn't want to embarrass her.  However, by not speaking up, she ran around town all day like that.

When, if ever, is it okay to tell a lie?
