Flakesgiving 2011 was a great success! We got nearly 1500 meals packed in 94 minutes, and gave them all to needy families in a single day. Thanks again to all of the volunteers who helped out at the event, and to the donors who helped make it possible. You've truly made a positive impact on the Billings community. Students Help the Flakes Pack for Flakesgiving [VIDEO]
After their show this morning, The Breakfast Flakes headed out to MetraPark to begin gearing up for Flakesgiving tomorrow. But they certainly didn't go alone. The Flakes had the help of hundreds of area high school students, working hard to make sure everyone in Billings has the opportunity to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.

Flakesgiving begins this Friday! Mark and Paul will be out at MetraPark preparing Thanksgiving meals for the needy, which will be given away on Saturday. Just because Flakesgiving is already here doesn’t mean you can’t help make a difference in somebody’s holiday meal. We’ve got five different ways you can give back to the Billings community and help with this year’s Flakesgiving.

Improvements The Breakfast Flakes Want for Billings’ New Library – Their Top 5
The voters of Billings have approved the bond to build a new library. Billings approved the $16 million bond to build the new Parmly Billings Library by a margin of 57 to 43 percent. It looks like most of the money will be used to fix heating, cooling and electrical problems, but for $16 million, we think the library could include a few extra “features”.
Major Dan Miller: Hometown Hero [AUDIO]

Robert Jarvis: Hometown Hero

My uncle Bob Jarvis served in The U.S. Navy during World War II. He and his twin brother Dick enlisted in the Navy in 1942. They both went to boot camp and then trained as anti-aircraft gunners. At that point they were assigned different ships.

The following Hometown Hero was submitted by Bill Callahan
Henry A. Jarvis was my Grandfather on my mom's side. In 1917, he enlisted in the Army upon America's entry into World War I. He saw action in five different battles and was wounded twice. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

It's that time again! The Breakfast Flakes and Cat Country 102.9 are ready to help those in need this holiday season with our annual Flakesgiving!
