There's a lab of scientists in Kazmenukstan who have developed a new strain of vegetables that are made of ground beef from cattle. The first Impossible Vegetable is now available and many say it has the same consistency, color, and taste of a real plant squash, but it's made entirely of animal meat.

So now when you show up at Thanksgiving Dinner, and have a slice of Grandma's homemade Pumpkin Pie, you'll never even know you're actually eating ground beef.

None of that previous story is true. And you couldn't call a pumpkin made of meat a vegetable, just like you can't cook a plant patty and call it a burger.

Some packaging on these impostor meats even show pictures of cows on the front. That's false advertising. Just like having a cow on the front of soy "milk." Soybeans don't have udders, so you can't milk it. Call it Almond Drink. Or Almond Sweat.

Last year, The FDA began to crack down on the use of the word "milk" for these non-dairy beverages. FDA Commissioner Scott Gotlieb commented, “An almond doesn’t lactate, I will confess."

The FDA has concerns that the labeling of some plant-based products may lead consumers to believe that those products have the same key nutritional attributes as dairy products, even though these products can vary widely in their nutritional content. -Forbes

The Associated Press reported earlier this year that Nebraska Senator Carol Blood, a vegetarian, introduced a bill to stop plant-based food companies from using the word "meat" in their products. The bill would make it a class I misdemeanor for “misleading or deceptive practices, including misrepresenting a product as meat that is not derived from livestock or poultry.”

The new bill would define meat as "any edible portion of any livestock or poultry carcass or part thereof and does not include lab-grown or insect or plant-based food products."

Montana already passed legislation for the Real Meat Act earlier this year that requires products labeled "meat" come from “the edible flesh of livestock or a livestock product.” However, according to a story from DairyHerd.com, the bill does not focus on plant-based meat substitutes.

Call it a test tube plant patty if that works for you. It's not a hamburger.

Reminds me of this scene from He's Just Not That Into You. "I don't like the way it's pretending to be wood...it's a lie."
