Earlier authorities in Boston had temporarily suspended cell service to safeguard against the possible detonation of other explosive devices that may have been placed in crowded areas near the Boston Marathon race course. Cell service has now been restored. That doesn't mean however that you'll have an easy time reaching your family members or friends in the greater Boston metropolitan area as cell towers are now being pushed to capacity. If you get a busy signal try again until you get through or try more traditional means such as a hard line or e-mail.

In the meantime Google has set up a website to help you look for loved ones you might not be able to reach. It's the Google person finder. Click here to look for friends or family online.
