Be sure to keep your eyes on the sky on Tuesday, June 5. It’s the last chance in our lifetime to see the transit of Venus across the face of the sun!

Venus is set to pass between the Earth and the sun tomorrow just before sunset. Here in Montana, look for it to begin around 4:05p.m. Venus will appear to cover just 1/32 of the face of the sun, so you will need very good conditions and very good eyes to view the event without magnification. However, you will need protective eyewear because the intensity of the sun’s light can cause serious retina damage.

You can see also the transit online as multiple observatories and telescopes across the globe will stream the event.

By the way, the next time the celestial sight will occur is 2117.
