An article in the Missoulian this morning documented the price of insulin. Approximately 65,000 people in Montana have diabetes and require insulin injections. An the cost for a month's worth of the life sustaining drug have gone from a wholesale price of $45 in 2001 to $1,447 last year. Are you kidding me?

So, now you've got people not taking their shots as often, trying to make their insulin last longer each month. For some this can lead to comas or even death.

I've never been a fan of more government intervention, but I wish something could be done to keep something like this affordable.

We've got somebody in this chain getting wealthy on what the insurance companies and patients are having to pay.

It shouldn't be this way.
