Montana Ranch Life

I've been rewatching Yellowstone lately and it's got me thinking a lot about Montana ranch life.

My cousins had ranches, but none on the scale of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch.  They were family ranches where the family worked it and if help was needed, other members of the family would show up to help, like for branding.  I'm sure my cousins hired extra hands when needed, just like we did on the farm during harvest. But for the most part, it was a small operation, compared to the Dutton Ranch.

BUCKET LIST ALERT!!  Book Yourself A Working Ranch Vacation In Montana

Are There Ranches In Montana Comparable To The Yellowstone Dutton Ranch?

There are.  Montana Beyond features the 10 biggest ranches in Montana, and they're no joke.  Of the largest ranches, the smallest runs 15,000 acres, and the largest is over 200,000 acres.  When talking about cattle ranches of that size, there will most definitely be a need to hire cowboys.

The ranches that operate on this scale do feature multiple homes and bunk houses.  Some even have homes instead of bunk houses for the hired help.  You'll also find world-class barns, stables, loafing sheds, and numerous corrals and fences.
