UPDATE: According to the Billings Police Department, Jeffrey was found about 1.5 miles south of Pictograph State Park on private property, thanks to a landowner who was helping with the search. He was in good spirits and relieved to have a ride.

The Billings Police Department sincerely thanks the landowner, the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office, and the Yellowstone County Search and Rescue for their invaluable assistance.

ORIGINAL STORY:  The Billings Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 77-year-old Jeffrey White, who was reported missing earlier today.

Jeffrey left his home in the Billings Heights area at approximately 6:45 a.m. and has not been seen since. Authorities are concerned for his safety, as Jeffrey has been diagnosed with Late-Onset Alzheimer’s.

Last Known Sighting Near Coburn Road

Jeffrey was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, white shoes, and a white baseball cap. He carries a tracking device due to his medical condition. That device last recorded his location at 11:00 a.m. near Coburn Road and Sweet Medicine Drive, a rural area between Four Dances Recreation Area and Pictograph Cave State Park.

Officials believe Jeffrey walked to this location, but no additional data has been recorded since that time.

Search and Rescue Operations Underway

The Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team has joined the effort, conducting a rural foot and air search of the area where Jeffrey’s tracking signal ended. The terrain is rugged and covers a large area, which makes any possible eyewitness information critical to the search.
