For the last few years, I refused to watch the insanely popular television series Yellowstone. When it debuted, I didn't have the Paramount Network. Then the show exploded and it was all everyone could talk about. Later, I felt it was too late to catch up by the second or third season. Then it became a weird sort of stubborn pride that I was one of the few people on earth who hadn't seen a single episode.

"OMG, are you watching Yellowstone?!"

Yes. Yes, I am. Over Christmas break my spouse suggested we give it a shot. We then stayed up late for too many nights in a row, binge-watched every single episode, and are now waiting anxiously for this season to resume where it left off. TV Guide reports that six more episodes to Season Five should be out by "summer 2023", although exact dates are still TBD.

There are two Yellowstone spin-offs (1923 and 1883, both prequels). I've yet to watch either of them. The creator is also working on another series called 6666. As for 1923, Harrison Ford plays 77-year-old Jacob Dutton, and Helen Mirren stars as his wife Carol. Ford appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night (2/1/23) where Ford used an interesting word to describe filming in Montana in the winter.

It rhymes with "fit."

At about the 5:17 mark in the clip above, Colbert asks Ford what it was like filming 1923 in Butte, in the winter. Harrison replied, "it's s---, it's terrible... it's awful", to laughter from the studio audience. Ford added that Montana is nice in the summer but it's SO cold in the winter, noting that Butte is regularly one of the coldest places in the lower 48 states. Ford mentioned that he owns a place in Wyoming, although he didn't say where in the clip (it's an 800-acre "ranch" on the Snake River outside Jackson Hole).

Maybe in a roundabout way, he was trying to do us a favor by mentioning that being in Montana in the winter is like poop. Perhaps he knows how much we dislike it when celebs blab about how awesome our state is.
