Luke Bryan’s Final Spring Break Album Debuts at No. 1
CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan debuted his last-ever Spring Break album, Spring Break...Checkin' Out, at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart.
With sales at nearly 89,000, the album was his second consecutive Spring Break album to debut at No. 1. The album also hit No. 3 on Billboard's Top 200 list.
Bryan celebrated the release with two concerts at Spinnaker Beach Club in Panama City Beach, Fla. Record crowds of over 400,000 fans turned out for the free shows. Combined sales from Bryan's seven Spring Break releases now exceed 1.2 million.
The superstar is such a staple in the modern country music scene that it's hard to believe he's been a household name for less than a decade. He released his first album in 2007. Since then, Bryan has released 12 No. 1 singles and sold 7 million albums from his four studio albums. He has also been named Entertainer of the Year by both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. In 2014, over 1.7 million fans attended his concerts.
Despite a busy schedule in recent weeks, Bryan shows no sign of slowing down. He is co-hosting the 50th Academy of Country Music Awards with Blake Shelton, and he has been nominated in four different categories: Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist, Song of the Year for “Drink A Beer” and Vocal Event for “This Is How We Roll,” with Florida Georgia Line. The show will air on CBS on April 19.
On May 8, Bryan will launch his Kick the Dust Up tour. For more information about his music and upcoming schedule, visit his website.
