Minimum Wage Bill Fails

Montana legislators failed to pass a minimum wage increase yesterday.  That’s good news for Montana businesses who would have to increase salaries by 25%.  Their costs would have been passed onto consumers through higher prices or they would have been forced to lay-off part of their labor force.

Do you think that employee will increase his or her productivity by 25%?  No.  So what does the employer get for his investment?  The fact that the employee will now stay.  Whoop-de-doo.  If you need more money there are numerous things you can do besides having the state hold your employer hostage....
