Shepherd Wrestling Club Invitational

Yesterday, for the third year, I had the honor and pleasure of Emceeing the Shepherd Invitational hosted by the Shepherd Wrestling Club. My nephews Liam and Langston Gallagher both wrestle for this club.  Liam is a novius and Langston a bantam. Roughly 350 kids wrestled yesterday, representing Shepherd, Huntley Project, Stars & Stripes, Hardin, Colstrip, Roundup, Broadus, Baker, Crazy Mountain, Custer, Miles City, Laurel Montana Disciples and Joliet.

One of the coolest things I've seen is when Cub Scout Pack 318 presented the colors before the start of the tournament.  Cub Scout Pack 318 members include, Emmett Gillfeather, Clarence Dormady, Colter Earley, Cashton Earley, Blake Shannon, Mathew Nixon, Liam Gallagher and Langston Gallagher lead by Cub Master Amanda Gallagher.  The National Anthem was sung by Amber Colburn.

It is so fun to watch these young boys and girls wrestle and to see  them grow each year and see how much experience they have gained. It is also great to see the sportsmanship these young kids learn and exhibit on the mat. A lot of these young athletes will be going to Great Falls the weekend of March 8-10 for state. Of course, we wish them all the best.
