Sugarland Allowed to Give Video Deposition in Indiana State Fair Case
Lawyers for both sides agreed that Sugarland could give their deposition in lawsuits stemming from last August’s stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair offsite, via video. The band will sit down to record next week in Charleston, W.V.
The Indy Channel reports that attorney Ken Allen confirmed April 12 and 13 as the dates for the duo’s testimony. It’s not clear if Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush will need both days to explain if or why they resisted delaying the start of the Aug. 13 concert at the Indiana State Fair. Moments before they were to walk on stage, the roof and light rigging collapsed due to severe weather and high winds, killing seven and injuring dozens.
The depositions were ordered last month for a lawsuit against Mid-America Sound Corp., the company that owned the stage and rigging. Officials from that company deny wrongdoing. Allen is representing a number of plaintiffs in the case.
Sugarland’s In Your Hands Tour begins on Thursday in Toledo, Ohio. They’ll have a day off on April 12, but are expected play in Pikeville, Kentucky on April 13.
