Updated snowfall totals from the National Weather Service show 43.5 inches of snow has accumulated in Fishtail, MT since 12noon on Sunday (2/24).

Snow showers will continue into Tuesday night and Wednesday with another 6 to 8 inches of accumulations likely. Another winter weather system is expected to impact our area Thursday with 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation and bitter cold.

Billings Public Schools have lifted the alternate bus route schedule and will return to normal routes starting Friday, January 24. BPS had alternate routes in effect since the first round of heavy snow hit Yellowstone County on Monday and extended the routes when a second winter storm dropped another six inches on Wednesday.

Following another round of snow, Billings Public Schools will extend the alternate bus route schedule through Thursday, January 24th. Special needs buses will run normal routes unless otherwise notified by the student’s bus driver.

The National Weather Service has a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 12 noon on Wednesday (1/23) to 12 noon on Thursday (1/24) for portions of south central Montana and north central Wyoming.

We could get dumped on this weekend so get ready now. Some areas could get a foot of snow so that gives you about two days. I know 131 people who are looking forward to Jan.18th but until then, here it comes.
