Alison Krauss Releasing ‘Windy City’ in February
Alison Krauss is set to release a new album -- her first for Capitol Records -- titled Windy City in mid-February.
Windy City, set for release on Feb. 17, is a collection of 10 well-known, previously recorded songs; Krauss teamed up with producer Buddy Cannon to select the tracks and put her own unique stamp on them. Readers can press play below to hear Krauss' take on "Losing You," originally recorded by Brenda Lee for her album Let Me Sing, which was released in 1963; it's the opening track of Windy City.
Other songs on Windy City include include Willie Nelson's "I Never Cared for You," Bill Monroe's "Poison Love" and two songs originally recorded by the Osborne Brothers, "It's Goodbye and So Long to You" and the album's title track. Guest vocalists include Krauss' Union Station bandmate Dan Tyminski, Hank Williams Jr., Jamey Johnson and Alabama's Teddy Gentry. A full track listing can be seen below.
Windy City will be Krauss' first solo album, without her band Union Station, since 2007's Raising Sand, which she recorded with Robert Plant. The record is available for pre-order now.
