In its 91st year, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade boats giant character balloons, floats of fantasy, marching bands and of course an appearance from the man himself, Santa Claus. The parade will take place on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, in the streets of Manhattan, with an expected 3.5 million spectators. It will also air on television.
“For more than 90 years, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has signaled the start of the holiday season for millions of families. We are thrilled to once again come together as a nation to give this gift of joy and wonder to all,” says Susan Tercero, group vice-president of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, in a press release.
The first Thanksgiving Day Parade march was held in November of 1924. Jake Owen, Miranda Lambert and Jennifer Nettles have represented country music at the event in years past, among others.
