Easter is coming up in less than 2 weeks and it got me thinking about family traditions.  My family has a few, mostly unstructured, that we do every year.

For instance, the Saturday before Easter we always get all of the kids(ages from 3 months to 21 years old) together at the kitchen table and dye our Easter eggs.  Sometimes the adults even join in on the fun and dye their own eggs.

Church is always on Sunday.  This part I really like.  Why, you might ask? Other than obviously to celebrate the holiday. But also because they always have a potluck breakfast at my parents church and those wonderful church ladies know how to cook!  But no one can cook a better breakfast quiche than my Mom! Mmmm.

Afterward, we always go back to my parents house and the women cook inside and kick the kids and men outside to cook whatever we've decided on for our lunch/dinner.  I like to call it having  "Schmin-ner".  It's always before 5 p.m. but after 2 p.m., so I think the name is fitting.  Don't you agree?

What family traditions do you have?  Is there something you have to do every Easter or it doesn't really feel like Easter?
