Tuesday, gasoline prices in Billings jumped by a dime to its highest levels since 2008. GasBuddy.com now reports the average price in Billings is over $3.70 per gallon. Gasoline prices in the state are higher than in the Magic City. Montana averages $3.74 statewide. The national average price of gasoline is $3.96.

Wyoming has the lowest average gasoline price at $3.64. Utah and Arizona prices round out the lowest three states.

Leaders of the largest oil companies in the country have been called to testify in front of Congress on the current gasoline price issue. The political talk is vastly different today than 3 years ago. During the last run up of gasoline prices in 2008, blame was placed on the Bush White House. This time, the oil companies and tax breaks are receiving the most attention.
