How You Can Help People In The Philippines Devastated By Typhoon Haiyan
UPDATE:
This weekend, PopCrush 97.1, 103.7 The Hawk, Cat Country 102.9, and NewsTalk 95.5 are hitting the streets to help out the victims of the deadly typhoon in the Philippines.
We’ll be collecting donations Saturday from 10 am from 2pm at the Stockman Bank on King Ave. Every penny we collect will go to the Red Cross Typhoon Relief Fund. We’ll also have some tasty treats from our friends at Albertsons for everyone who stops by and Stockman Bank has generously agreed to match all donations up to $1,000.
According to Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Paul Kennedy hundreds of thousands of typhoon victims in the Philippines need help immediately. So far the Philippine government has counted nearly 2000 deaths but fear the toll is actually over 10,000 people and rising fast as now homeless citizens have gone 3 days without clean water food and medication. More than 2 million people need food aid.
Currently General Kennedy says U.S. Marines are on the ground providing aid and more ships are on their way to help but he says the rest of the world needs to get mobilized and start donating now. If you've seen the news accounts, read the stories and looked at the pictures you've probably been nearly driven to tears. Let's show the world how much Montanan's care.
