Cherries on the Flathead: Orchard Listed for $1.35 Million
Cherry blossoms are popping in the Flathead Valley.
Huckleberries became Montana's state fruit in 2023 when Governor Greg Gianforte signed HB 880 into law, a bill crafted with help by 4th graders at Vaughn Elementary. And while huckleberries are delicious, another fruit gets plenty of attention in Montana... fresh Flathead cherries.

A perfect environment for growing cherries.
The Flathead Valley, specifically along the shores of Flathead Lake provides optimal growing conditions for the juicy, red fruit. Orchards line the east shores of the lake and tourists and locals enjoy stopping at the roadside stands to grab a few pounds of fresh, Montana-grown cherries.
A Flathead Lake cherry orchard is on the market for $1.35 million.
Located on desirable Finley Point, the 12.2-acre orchard has a history of successful cherry production, reportedly harvesting up to 100,000 pounds of cherries on bountiful years.
A turn-key operation.
According to the property listing, the orchard features electronically controlled drip irrigation for optimized water control.
Fully fenced to keep critters out.
Humans aren't the only ones who will quickly scarf down a bowl of fresh cherries. Deer and bears will gobble them up too. An 8-foot-tall, electrified fence encloses the orchard.
Two shops for cherry equipment and processing.
The orchard includes two shops: an original 864 sq. ft heated shop equipped with a kitchenette, ½ bathroom, and a large walk-in/drive-in refrigerated room. A new, 3,000 sq. ft. shop adds functionality, with three 14 ft. bay doors, a bathroom, a commercial kitchen, and preparations for a refrigerated space.
Incredible views.
This cherry orchard on Flathead Lake comes with some of the best views in the state. There is room on the 12.2-acre footprint to build a home. The orchard is listed by Dawn Maddux at Engel & Völkers Western Frontier - Missoula. See all the photos and complete details HERE.
