Huge Changes Coming to Popular Neighborhood Bar in Billings

My favorite spot these days

I stumbled into my favorite spot for a beer and appetizers yesterday and noticed a change. Not a blatant one, but just new faces in this bar/casino. The bartender greeted me and got my spouse and I a beer. As we joked how quiet this usually loud bar was, the bartender chimed into our conversation, “The Owner doesn’t let us listen to music during the day, but that’s changing soon...”  

We struck up conversation about it and the bartender threw on some music that was funky and filled the silence. This bartender then informs me this new bar is under new ownership and some changes will be made to this popular neighborhood bar and casino.  

Kyle Solheim and his wife are the new, proud owners of CJ’s Bar and Grill.

This establishment is on 24th and Central near the Target and was the first place I ate when I moved to Billings. I was shocked to hear the old owners were selling it because this place is always packed. But Kyle told me the process of buying the liquor license for CJ’s takes time. Once they secure the license, they will officially be the new owners. Village Inn Pizza will be in CJ’s Garage, located in the same strip mall-like setting.

All I know is that I’m very happy to meet Kyle and his wife.

They did tell us they’re not changing the food in CJ’s which I’m stoked about because I go there for the BANG BANG Shrimp. It’s delicious, highly recommend. Kyle did inform me they’re not changing much of the décor, so it’s still familiar and people will still come enjoy this atmosphere.
