Montana's Clean Energy Fair 2024: A Spotlight on Sustainability

MSU-Billings is set to host the 13th Annual Clean Energy Fair on August 24, 2024. This event is expected to draw attendees from across the state and will provide an excellent opportunity for locals to explore their options regarding solar, wind, EVs, and more.

It's not just tree-hungers and environmentalists opting for solar in Montana.

Farmers and ranchers have been using the sun to power remote water tanks and electric fences for years, and homeowners from all walks of life have been considering solar (or already pulled the trigger) in neighborhoods across the Treasure State.

My very conservative, non-greenie parents chose to offset some of their electricity costs a few years ago with a big array of panels in their backyard. They carefully calculated the "break-even" costs of going solar and decided it was right for them. They'll probably add a battery bank at some point, as reliance on the grid seems to get sketchier.
