Need a Cuddle Buddy? Meet ‘Loki’ Billings Featured Adoptable Pet
This week's featured Wet Nose Wednesday pet is such a sweetheart. His name is Loki, and he's a five-year-old flat-coated Retriever. Basically, like a Golden Retriever only with a dark brown coat.
Loki has tons of energy but also loves to cuddle.
His thick, walnut-toned fur is very soft and he wasted no time cuddling on our office couch in the lounge area when the opportunity presented. He should do well with children, said Derek Wulf, Humane Education Coordinator at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter. It's unknown how well Loki would deal with a cat in a household.
A man - or woman's - best friend.
Loki would love to find a forever human that likes to get out and adventure, be it a quick walk around the neighborhood, or exploring the outdoors together. Flat-coated Retrievers are bred for hunting and love to please. The American Kennel Club describes the breed,
Dogdom's champion tail-waggers, Flat-Coats are among the happiest of all breeds. They mature slowly; some owners say that they never grow up at all, retaining a puppyish taste for rambunctious mischief into old age.
Loki seems a little on the thick side (approximately 60 - 70 pounds) and could benefit from fewer treats and more exercise.
