'Tiger' Just Wants to Relax. Meet Billings' Wet Nose Wednesday Do

Does Fall make you feel like slowing down a little bit? Maybe easing back on the throttle as another year starts winding down? Us too. We think our featured Wet Nose Wednesday dog Tiger wants to spend a nice relaxing fall with you. We're pretty sure he likes pumpkin spice dog treats, casual strolls on a leafy path at Riverfront Park, and a cozy blanket on the couch at the end of the day.

Tiger is a nine-year-old mixed breed.

Tiger was surrendered to the shelter. Sad, right? Reportedly, he didn't get along with other dogs at his home. However, Derek Wulf, Humane Education Coordinator at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter said Tiger gets along quite well with the other dogs at the shelter, adding that he enjoys playing and hasn't shown signs of aggression.

Older dogs need the love too.

At 9, Tiger still has plenty of life ahead of him. He's rebounding from an allergy (Wulf said when the dog first came to the shelter he was missing a patch of fur on his back), but otherwise he seems healthy for his age. We have an older dog at my house and I can't image letting him go to a shelter after spending over a decade with our family.

To help prevent overcrowding at the shelter, they're running a promotion where you can "Name Your Own Price" when adopting a dog or cat. Whatever you can afford. If you've been looking to adopt but the price was a barrier, now is a great opportunity to find your new furry friend. Wulf said the shelter is doing well on dogs at the moment, but that can change at any time. They currently have LOTS of cats. The good news! Last week's featured dog Loki was quickly adopted. The bad news! Our dog from September 20th is still there. Check out Oscar HERE and see if he could be the right dog match for you. Montana's Museum Of The Rockies Is For Everyone! Check It Out

Museum of the Rockies is nestled right next to Bobcat Stadium in Bozeman. The Museum is part of the American Alliance of Museums, which means that the Museum of the Rockies is one of the 1,095 museums to hold this distinction. With over 33,000 museums nationwide, this is quite an accomplishment.

The Museum of the Rockies is also part of the Montana Dinosaur Trail. What is that? It is a trail that runs through the state of Montana and has 14 locations. Each location will get you just a little closer to the history and knowledge of Dinosaurs.

Museum of the Rockies has current and rotating exhibits. Currently, (December 2021) here are some of my favorites that are on display: Siebel Dinosaur Complex, Welcome to Yellowstone Country, which digs into the history of Montana, Enduring Peoples Exhibit, highlighting the American Indians of Montana, and the Paugh Exhibit, illuminating the stories that connect us with the Northern Colorado Rockies. You can see all the exhibits here to make planning your trip easier.

Museum of the Rockies is an independent 501 Non-Profit here in Bozeman. With that being said, they hold some of the most exquisite benefits throughout the year. This gives the museum the opportunity to continue to be a highlight for the city of Bozeman. Another way to continue the success of the Museum of the Rockies is to become a member.
