REI Coming To Billings; New Car Wash Proposed On West End
Construction is underway on the west end that will bring another outdoor recreation outfitter to Billings. REI will have it's fourth Montana location when the new store is completed on the northwest side of the King Avenue West and Shiloh Road intersection.
Kent, Washington based REI is a consumer co-operative that sells sporting goods and camping gear. This means competition for the Scheels in Shiloh Crossing will be coming soon.
According to the Billings Gazette, the REI building will cost more than $1.5 million and have over 23,000 square feet of ground floor space.
Wyoming-based Rocky Mountain Car Wash is hoping to start construction on their first Montana location, if re-zoning is approved. The car wash would be located on the northwest corner of the Lewis Avenue and 24th Street West intersection. The current property owner, United Pentecostal Church of Billings, is relocating and requesting the property be re-zoned from Residential Professional to Neighborhood Commercial.
A Cenex gas station is located directly across Lewis Avenue from where the proposed car wash would be built.
