Insects

The insects are reportedly being spotted in Montana. Common in Central America and the US South, they've been slowly moving north and can harbor a dangerous disease.

I was ducking and diving like a meth addict. I grabbed the only swatting device I could quickly find nearby, an empty bottle of bubbles that my kids so thoughtfully left in the yard.

The shrill mating call of the cicada is impossible to miss along the Yellowstone River. The loudest bug in the world is harmless to humans and pets; only the male creates the ear-piercing sound.

The orange lines on its body may instill fear in those who may come across it in their fields. However, these black bugs shouldn't scare you at all.

I'm not sure how these little suckers got into my apartment but I've been invaded by gnats. I spray them and I squish them and they keep coming back. My apartment is spotless and I'm cleaning every dish the moment it gets dirty but they still keep coming and just hang around the kitchen and bathroom.

I went home to grab my iPhone charging cord and saw this thing on my blinds. I looked it up and it is a hornet. I hear it can sting multiple times. I'm not sure how a hornet would get into my basement apartment on Montana Avenue. I can only imagine it came through the vent which brings in outside air...
