I am originally from Los Angeles, but grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. In between I spent two years of my childhood in Montana. One in Great Falls and the other in Havre. My mom married a Canadian when I was 9, and we moved to Canada. Because the winters in Edmonton were too damn cold, I moved back to California once I was 21. My radio career has taken me to Casa Grande, Ariz., and to Palm Springs, Fresno and San Luis Obispo, Calif., and back to Edmonton, and Yakima. I play poker, basketball and flag football in my free time. My claim to fame is that my wife Monica is sisters with the former Miss El Salvador 1996, who came in sixth in that year's Miss Universe competition. Of course I think my wife is prettier than her sister! I also have a 12-year-old daughter named Noel who is in junior high and was the fifth-grade champion high jumper.

Thrift Store Finds Of The Week
The thrift stores in Billings are the gifts that keep on giving. In a conversation with one of the employees of St. Vincent De Paul he said what he thinks happens is when older people pass away their kids come from out of town to deal with their belongings and don't realize what the furnishings they bought in the 50's and 60's is really worth...
Scheels Grand Opening Was HUGE!
I had the honor of being the emcee at the grand opening of Billings new Scheels store at Shiloh Crossing. About 2500 people were lined up hours before the store opened at 9am and I got to be the good guy who read off hundreds of raffle ticket numbers that awarded some of those waiting with free Scheels gift cards...
The Final Billings Bike Night Of 2014 Was Awesome!
As I've mentioned on the air in the past, I'm not the kind of person to spend money on creating my own classic motorbike or classic car. Not that I don't appreciate them because I do but I'd rather spend my money on vacations or home improvements...
This Villian Looks Just Like Me
I was at Montana Rescue Mission Thrift Store In The Heights this weekend when I came across this Scholastic Reader called "A to Z Mysteries: The Bald Bandit". First off... why the bandit got to be bald? Can't he be good looking like a GQ model...
Thrift Shop Find Of The Week
Sometimes my thrift shop find of the week is a quality piece of mid century modern furniture that I got cheap but can sell for big money (4 or 5 times what I paid for it). This week it's something quirky but cool. Genuine American kitsch that I have a feeling someone will pay up to $20 for...
If You Think An Elderly Person Is Going To Fall Run As Fast As You Can To Catch Them
That may seem like obvious advice but what isn't obvious is that when we see something bad about to happen we usually freeze. Every once in awhile I think about a 92 year-old neighbor of ours named John. He and his wife lived in a rental triplex across the street from us...
Montana Students Have The Worst Attendance Record In The United States
According to a report for the website www.attendanceworks.org 26% Montana's 4th grade students miss 3 or more school days per month and 29% of 8th grade students miss 3 or more days per month. Those are the worst percentages among all 50 states...
The World’s Greatest Superhero
When one spends as much time at thrift stores looking for bargains to resell as I do you find all kinds of off items. Remember the "Scholastic Guides" readers? I do but I don't seem to remember this guy... "The Bald Bandit". Frankly, for 59 cents, I'm upset with myself that I didn't buy this (it's at MRM in the Heights if you care) so I could share the story plot with you but s
Billings Thrift Store Find Of The Week
I'm beginning to live like a hoarder. I don't have boxes full of crap that I'll never use but my Montana Avenue apartment is difficult to negotiate anyway. Just last night at 3am I stubbed my toe twice on the legs of mid century modern furniture on the way to bathroom...
My Friend Taylor Genuser Is Going To Play QB For The Billings Wolves
I've mentioned a few times that while I did spend a couple years as a kid growing up in Montana that I moved here from California to work for Cat Country a couple of years ago. One of the things I miss about living in Fresno is all of the friends I made due to having a sustained Saturday flag football game going since 1998...
You Know You’re In Montana When…
This morning, while walking to work across the parking lot here at the Crowne Plaza, I thought about Jeff Foxworthy, the creator of the "you know you're a redneck when" jokes thanks to the picture above. It occurred to me that he probably could have written a whole book about Montana...
It’s Wet Today In Billings… Please Drive Accordingly
Obviously the rain is giving us a well deserved break from the heat... especially the 90+ high that was originally predicted for today (which has been downgraded to 81 thankfully. But with the rain comes great responsibility (sorry, I temporarily broke into a scene from Spiderman)...
