Being a Kid Again in Billings
As we grow into adults and get into our hustle and bustle of work life, it's easy to for us to forget our carefree, fun-loving life we had as a kid.
I forgot how much I had given up until this last weekend.
My oldest son came to me Sunday and asked if I would like to play football with him in the back yard. I quickly accepted and we headed out. This soon turned into a full football game with all of my boys and some of the neighbor kids popping in to play.
I had forgotten how much fun that was.
We didn't stop there. I looked down at one point and saw a grasshopper in the grass. After I alerted all the kids, it turned into a hunt with the glory going to whoever caught the most and biggest grasshoppers. I lost.
There's the old saying, "Stop and smell the roses," but we never really do that anymore. I can't believe the stress that was lifted off me, just by being a kid again.
I know I will find myself doing a lot more of these activities in the future. What about you?
