  1. Trail Ridge Fire: 15,008 acres - The fire was started by lightning, and began on Friday, August 26. It is burning 22 miles northwest of Wisdom, Montana. 14% of the perimeter has been contained.
  2. Indian Ridge Fire: 8.670 acres - The fire began on Thursday, July 7 and was caused by lightning. It is burning 5 miles from the Idaho/Montana border 30 miles southwest of Darby, Montana. 0% of the perimeter has been contained.
  3. Eagle Creek Fire: 7,225 acres - The fire began on Wednesday, September 7, and the cause is under investigation. It is burning 30 miles south of Havre, Montana in the Bear Paw Mountains. 40% of the perimeter has been contained.
  4. Bull Gin Complex: 3,047 acres - The fire is comprised of three wildland fires including the Government Fire, the Billiard Fire, and the Isabella Lake Fire. These fires were the result of the lightning storm activity on August 31, 2022. It is burning 2 miles northeast of Heron, Montana. 0% of the perimeter has been contained.
  5. Weasel Fire: 2,450 acres - The fire was discovered on July 30, and was most likely caused by lightning. It is burning 14 miles northeast of Eureka, Montana. 40% of the perimeter has been contained.
  6. Twist Creek Fire: 2,061 acres - The fire started by lightning on August 23 is located 28 miles southeast of Elk City, Idaho and 2 miles south of Sabe Vista along the Magruder Corridor in Idaho’s Frank Church of No Return Wilderness. 0% of the perimeter is contained.
  7. Quartz Fire: 1,981 acres - The fire was discovered in Glacier National Park on August 14, and was caused by lightning. It's located west of the Continental Divide in the Quartz Creek drainage below Vulture Peak. 0% of the perimeter is contained.
  8. Cannon Fire: 1,872 acres - The fire was detected on August 7, and is burning in the Bob Marshall Wilderness 15 miles northeast of Condon, Montana. It was caused by lightning. 0% of the perimeter is contained.
  9. Ursus Fire: 1, 824 acres - The fire was reported on August 25, and is located in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. It was caused by lightning. It is burning on the south side of Rapid Creek at the base of Ursus Hill, approximately 1.5 miles up the Rapid Creek drainage. 0% of the perimeter is contained.
  10. Boulder Lake Fire: 1,700 acres - The fire was reported on Sept. 3, was caused by lightning and is burning primarily in the Rattlesnake Wilderness, east of Boulder Lake in the Missoula Ranger District. An area closure is in place for public safety and includes all National Forest lands in the Boulder Lake basin. 0% of the perimeter is contained.
