Innocent Lockwood Man Critically Injured After Weekend Shooting
A whirlwind of violence in Billings has residents concerned.
For one innocent man, a recent encounter with Billings' criminal element almost cost him his life. Brassar McCabe was minding his own business at his residence on Canary Avenue in Lockwood on Saturday evening when he noticed two individuals attempting to break into his vehicle. He reportedly confronted the suspects, who initially fled, and then returned and opened fire with a gun. The criminals struck him multiple times in the chest and torso area.
One suspect was found in the area and arrested, according to the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office. The other suspect led officers on a brief pursuit, ending near 7th St. West and Broadwater Ave where the second suspect was found hiding under a car and subsequently arrested.
A long road to recovery.
McCabe's family has started a GoFundMe account to help with medical expenses and other out-of-pocket costs he'll surely experience as he faces a long and painful recovery. According to an update from his mom (11/12) on the GoFundMe account,
We need lots of prayers.. He had 1st surgery last night. They are going to keep him sedated for 3 days. He was shot 3 times, his lung, pancreas, liver, kidney,, stomach and small intestine. One bullet is lodged near his spine and right now he can't move his legs. Waiting on specialists for more surgeries.
